About me

My name is Karim El-Khazindar, and I am a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Computer Science and Business. I chose to pursue these fields because I believe that at their intersection, there’s a large potential for innovation.

I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in exciting student-led project teams and gain valuable professional experience. In the summer of 2024, I worked at Intel in Phoenix, Arizona, as a Process Engineering Intern in the Planar Department. At Intel, I’ve had the pleasure of owning a Chemical-Mechanical Polishing (CMP) tool, which has enabled me to develop my problem solving skills. In 2023, I worked at Aquiles Solutions, in Barcelona, Spain, as a Data Science Intern. At Aquiles, I leveraged my computer science skills, and had the unique experience of working at a startup in a foreign country, where I did not speak the native language.

My interests are varied, but my objective is clear. I want to challenge myself and do impactful work. Some of my interests include semiconductors technology, the automotive industry, sustainability, AI and machine learning, and startups!

I’m a massive football fan and I love photography, skateboarding, and travel. I’ve lived in 7 countries around the world, and I speak 3 languages (English, French, and Arabic). I have a global perspective, and with it, I want to make a global impact.
